Facebook Experience

Technology has brought to us a revolutionizing experience with Facebook a social networking website that has taken it to a whole different level.

I was asked to join this website a few times by several friends but did nothing about it. One day, cousin A sent me a request and then I thought ok why not. At first, I found it a bit hard navigating around but then I became hooked.

Yes, I must admit I’m an official Facebook addict. I love it! I’ve managed to hook up with nearly all my school friends, uni mates, ex colleagues, colleagues and family. It’s a big upgrade from using Friendster. With Facebook there are so many applications that you can choose to have or not depending on your interest.

I’ve developed a love for Scrabble and play with cousin S who is super good at it, whom I never knew was so good at Scrabble. I got in touch with my cousins overseas and know so much more about their life now, which is great!

I’m able to share pictures and tag friends when I have group outings so everyone has a copy of them. Plus, those who are close at heart and far away, can see pics of my family easily (especially my ever growing son) and not forget how we look! Pictures say a thousand words and can bring emotion that goes beyond words.

My favourite application when I first joined was ‘Growing Gifts’. I like the way the potted gift grows over 4 days. This was followed by the eggs cracking application.
I also love the update status thing. This helps knowing how a person is, what the person is up to and so on.

Also, love the fact that I’m in touch with many happenings in Malaysia through the KLPAC groups and Cupacakes updates, etc. You can join just any group and get first hand information easily on what shows are on without having to look anywhere else. It’s a good thing a lot of organizations have caught up with Facebook and use it as means to promote their cause.

The privacy settings in this website is superb. You can set privacy to your apps and whom you wish to share your photos with. Important feature!

This experience has brought my relationships with people who choose to interact via Facebook so much easier and cheaper not to mention. You can do nearly anything on it with a click of a button just to show you care and that you’re on my mind.

I was having a conversation with someone last night about how addictive Facebook can be. Amongst all the social networking sites I've used before, I have to admit Facebook is the best.

As you mentioned, their privacy settings are necessary and have incorporated clever and useful privacy settings such as the "Limited Profile" function.
