Harry Potter comes to an end on big screen

Harry Potter made it’s welcome into my life back during my university days. It was my 2nd year, and a dear friend M, introduced these books to me. I read the first book and was hooked.

Now I have to provide a bit of background. When I first started on Harry Potter and got hooked, I was going through a very difficult time in my life. I was depressed and nothing could take my mind away from my pain. But Harry Potter did just that for me! It took me to a different world beyond my imagination and was simply amazing. I would look forward everyday to come back after classes just to read this book and keep reading it till the wee hours of the morning.

I have continued to read Potter as I grew up, to holding my first paying job, getting married and having a child. I still always managed to make time to read my beloved Potter books as they came out one by one till the end.

Last year, I was fortunate enough to also make a trip to London, where most of the locations in the book are inspired by and some of which have come out in the movies. I went to one of the banquet halls where this movie was filmed and also to King’s cross where they have a little trolley half way through the wall. I have to say a huge thanks to my cousins S & M for making the time to bring me to these places despite the short trip I had.

And now we are here, at the end of this journey. I have got my Gold Class tickets to Harry Potter on the 15th July. I will be going with my husband who has also got me a Harry Potter wand during his visit to Hamley’s. I’ll bring the wand in the bag with me. It truly feels like an end to a particular phase in life. From the books to watching actors/actresses grow up on big screen. Though all good things must come to an end, and I doubt there will be anything like Potter in my life, I am looking forward to the next phase. I wonder what will be the next thing that grabs my attention the way Potter has...
